The five-year veteran tackle was signed by the Lions last year before the season. In the seven games he played with the Lions, he started four at guard position, as the replacement of Edwin Mulitalo who was injured during season.
If Cook was not to undergo surgery, he would be probably the back up for Jeff Backus and Gosder Cherilus this season, because he had been in competition for the job with five other tackles during off season.
