Browns have Gil Haskell to be team president’s senior adviser

The Cleveland Browns president Mike Holmgren recently hired his former colleague Gil Haskell to be his senior adviser. The Browns made the announcement on Wednesday but did not specify what role 66-year-old Haskell would play with the team.


Before taking over as the Browns’ president last month, Holmgren served as an analyst for NBC's coverage of Super Bowl XLIII on February 1, 2009. Before that he worked together with Haskell for the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers. Haskell served as Holmgren’s offensive coordinator for nine seasons in Seattle and spent the final two seasons as assistant head coach.

Before joining the Seahawks, Haskell worked for the Carolina Panthers as an offensive coordinator from 1998 to 1999 when Holmgren left Packers for the Seahawks. While working with Holmgren in Green Bay, Haskell’s job was to coach running backs and wide receivers in Packers jerseys.
