Eagles QB McNabb wishes Vick a starting job, somewhere else

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb hopes his teammate Michael Vick could get a starting job in a new team as the quarterback wearing No. 7 NFL jerseys deserves an opportunity to start.

"I don’t know what particular team," McNabb said. "I just hope he has an opportunity to be a starter for another team. I think he definitely deserves that, and he has done a great job of getting himself together and preparing himself for this opportunity. And I think he is going to flourish in it."

To retain Vick, the Eagles will have to pay him a $1.25 million roster bonus on March 5. And it seems that they are unwilling to pay so much for a player who did not contribute much during the past season. McNabb’s wish appears to indicate that Vick will eventually leave Philadelphia. A popular guess for Vick’s next team is the St. Louis Rams, who need quarterback help and some kind of stimulating factor that may increase tickets sale after the team went 6-42 over the past three seasons.
