
Different from Tomlinson who finished the 2009 season with career low 730 yards on 223 carries for an average of 3.3 yards per attempt; Jones is still playing at a very high level, rushing for 1,402 yards last season. The uncertainties on his relationship with Jets are on other things.
Turning 32 year old, Jones is due a $3 million roster bonus and a $2.8 million base salary for 2010 season. It is just unlikely for any team to pay so much money for 32-year-old running back. Plus the Jets have young choices like Shonn Greene. They even do not need Jones as a backup if Leon Washington wears back his Jets jersey after full recovery from his leg surgery.
